Introduction
Gujarat's leading integrated power utilities, with a strong presence across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. The company operates across the entire power value chain, including generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity. With a diversified portfolio comprising thermal, gas-based, wind, and solar power assets, the organization manages an installed generation capacity of approximately 5 GW.
The utility supplies reliable power to a diverse customer base of over 4 million consumers, including residential households, commercial establishments, industrial facilities, government organizations, and critical infrastructure across more than 12 cities and industrial regions. Serving nearly 2 crore citizens through its distribution network, the company plays a vital role in supporting India's economic growth and energy transition initiatives.

With a growing renewable energy footprint and geographically distributed assets, the organization required a robust digital platform to enable centralized monitoring, improve operational visibility, and streamline performance reporting across sites.
SSM Infotech Solutions Pvt. Ltd. implemented the X-Force Plant Information Platform (PIP) to integrate operational data from multiple renewable plants into a Unified Operation Centre, enabling real-time monitoring, enhanced analytics, and improved decision-making for efficient renewable asset management.
Goals

Transforming Operational Complexity into Centralized Intelligence
Gujarat's leading integrated power utilities, the organization manages extensive power generation and distribution infrastructure, delivering reliable energy to millions of consumers across multiple regions. Across substations, grid networks, and operational systems, vast volumes of real-time data are generated continuously.
This data is critical for ensuring grid stability, operational efficiency, compliance, and strategic oversight. However, when information resides in separate systems, extracting meaningful insights becomes time-consuming and resource-intensive.
Generating a consolidated operational report often required pulling information from multiple platforms, validating data with respective system owners, and manually compiling it for management review. By the time reports were finalized, operational conditions had often evolved. In high-reliability power environments, delayed visibility can restrict proactive decision-making.
The need was clear: transform fragmented data into a unified, enterprise-grade intelligence platform.
Digging Out from Fragmented Operational Data
The organization faced significant challenges in consolidating operational data from geographically distributed renewable energy assets. Key performance metrics and operational insights were dispersed across multiple systems, requiring manual aggregation for analysis and reporting. This fragmented data landscape limited real-time visibility, increased reporting effort, and hindered timely operational decision-making.
Because data had to be gathered from various sources, generating consolidated MIS reports often required significant coordination between departments. By the time information was compiled and validated, the operational context had already evolved.
In high-reliability environments such as power utilities, decisions must be based on timely and accurate data. When information flows through disconnected systems, there is an increased dependency on manual intervention and cross-verification.
Operational teams often had to rely on individual system owners or operators to confirm current status values, creating unnecessary delays and potential inconsistencies.
To address these challenges, client initiated the implementation of X-Force Plant Information Platform (PIP). The journey began with integration of selected high-priority data points to validate real-time consolidation and reporting capabilities. Following early success, the scope was progressively expanded to cover broader operational systems, enabling enterprise-wide visibility and centralized data governance.
Strategic Impact
X-Force PIP, customer has transformed renewable asset monitoring from decentralized plant-level oversight to centralized enterprise intelligence.
The Unified Operation Centre now functions as:
A Renewable Energy Control Centre
A Performance Optimization Platform
A Data-Driven Decision Engine
A Scalable Digital Infrastructure for future expansion
The platform supports not only monitoring but long-term renewable growth strategy.
Successful Implementation of Plant Information Platform for Renewable Operations
SSM Infotech deployed the X-Force Plant Information Platform to enable centralized monitoring and analytics for distributed renewable assets of Customer. The Unified Operation Centre provides real-time visibility, automated reporting, and performance analytics, improving operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making across multiple plant locations.

The Benefits of Centralized Renewable Intelligence
What began as a phased rollout of Plant Information Platform (PIP) quickly evolved into a fully operational Unified Operation Centre for the organization's renewable energy operations.
By consolidating more then two lakh data tags from wind and solar assets into a centralized platform, the organization transformed fragmented monitoring into enterprise-wide operational visibility.
The shift from multiple OEM interfaces to a unified data environment enabled:
Real-time fleet performance monitoring
Faster and automated MIS reporting
Improved downtime tracking and alarm analytics
Better correlation between weather and generation
Cross-site KPI benchmarking (PLF, Availability, Performance Ratio)
Operational teams now access live dashboards instead of manually compiling reports. Decision-makers gain timely, reliable insights across multiple distributed renewable sites from a single control centre.
The Unified Operation Centre has become the operational “pulse” of the organization's renewable energy portfolio — enabling faster decisions, improved asset performance, and a scalable digital foundation for future expansion.
